Hair loss in men is one the first and most prominent sign of balding. If you are suffering from excessive hair fall, you need to take action against it as early as possible. The earlier you begin to stop hair fall, the more hair you will be able to save.


How to stop hair loss in MEN
1. Have a healthy and protein rich diet -

A healthy diet can work wonders for your hair. A high protein diet which is rich in fish, lean meats and soy, promotes the growth of hair and helps curb hair loss. One must also consume nuts and seeds since they are packed with vitamin E and have healthy fats; which make your hair healthy and strong.

2. Take vitamins supplements -

Vitamin deficiency is a primary reason for hair loss in men. Thus, you need a vitamin rich diet and should take multivitamin supplements with Biotin. Biotin — vitamin H or B7— is an important nutrient for the growth and maintenance of healthy hair. One may experience hair loss if you have a biotin deficiency. Vitamin A helps regulate the synthesis of retinoic acid in the hair follicles. Vitamin B helps reduce stress levels which contribute to hair loss. Besides these, vitamins C, D, and E help the body maintain nutrients necessary for good health.

3. Drink lots of Water -

Dehydration halts hair growth. Since about 25% of your hair follicles are made of water, they might get weak if you are dehydrated. Thus, it is important to drink enough water for healthy and strong hair.

Smoking impacts the blood flow to your hair follicles, while drinking alcohol in excess causes dehydration and nutritional deficiencies. Thus they cause more hair loss in men.

7. Avoid heat styling -

If your hair is subjected to frequent styling, and heating procedures, this weakens your hair shaft. This makes your hair fragile and increases chances of breakage and hair fall.

8. Avoid chemical treatments -

Chemical treatments like hair color and straightening damage your hair and scalp. If you must color, try using organic hair colors which don’t contain ammonia and other chemicals; or best to use home hair colors like you can use coffee to color your hair Brown, use Beetroot to color it Red / Burgundy & so on.

9. Head massages -

In case its a serious issue consult a dermatologist as they can determine the cause of your hair loss and diagnose the right hair loss treatment for men. You will need to tell them about your family history, medications, hair products and lifestyle. Sometimes something as simple as your medication might be causing hair fall as a side effect.

Also, there are several medicines available in the market that can slow or prevent hair fall in men. Speak to your dermatologist about the best course of treatment for you.
