Every person wants to lose that extra fat, but that involves a lot of commitment and discipline. Not all of us can sweat it out daily in a gym, eat zero-oil and zero-sugar diet to lose weight. When it comes to dieting, it is difficult to stay motivated and hence most of us give up mid-way.
For most of us dieting is a temporary phase and we expect immediate results from it. But just the way a strict diet helps you lose weight, in the same way, that lost weight accumulates back on you once you start eating normally.
Hence it is important to follow food rules that would help you get rid of that extra fat slowly but permanently. It is always advisable to go for gradual weight loss by following a balanced diet to prevent any nutritional deficiencies. One should avoid following crash diets.
Not all things work on everyone, so here are some of my tested and tried methods that have helped me to shed the extra fat in a healthy way.
1. Hydrate :
I just cannot stop emphasizing on this !!!
Sounds too basic and a simple thing, right? But this is the first step towards weight loss. Water not just keeps you hydrated but also boosts your metabolism, keeps you filled for long time, flushes out toxins and prevents water retention.
2. Reduce sugar intake :
If you cannot totally give it up, at least try to gradually reduce it. Sugar is not just high in bad calories but also slows down your metabolism as per latest researches. It leads to obesity and heart-related issues.
3. Eat more Protein :
If you are not already doing it, add more proteins in your diet. Include dal, eggs, paneer, tofu and soya products on a daily basis. Proteins keep you full for long and prevent cravings.
4. Walk or take the stairs :
Totally the best thing to do in today’s time during the pandemic. If you are looking to maintain a healthy body, ideally you must go for a brisk walk for at least 30 minutes daily. But if you cannot do that, straight away take the stairs. If you don’t know; walking massages the internal organs and helps increase metabolism. This is the best mantra if you want to lose weight quickly.
5. Eat Fiber rich food :
Fiber not just flushes out cholesterol, keeps the gut clear but also keeps you full for longer period of time, which will reduce your extra food intake. It is very important to eat fibrous food when one wants to lose weight. Include whole fruits and green vegetables to add fiber in your diet.
6. Chew your food :
Chew your food 20-30 times.
This is very important, as it makes the food easily digestible. As per several researches, people who chew their food less, gain more weight.
7. NO packaged juices and soda drinks :
How much ever they advertise the packaged juices to be natural, they are loaded with sugar, artificial flavors, colors & preservatives.
They not just add empty calories but they also disturb your metabolism and contribute in weight gain.
Drink loads of water, detox drinks & fresh squeezed juices instead.
8. Break - the - fast :
Whoever said that “Eat Breakfast like a king; lunch like a prince; dinner like a pauper.” Truly fits inn, if you want to be healthy throughout your life. Breakfast simply means breaking the fast you had in the sleep period. In today's busy schedule, we tend to forget about having breakfast. At times, we simply skip it. Typical excuses we give ourselves include: I got up too late; I wasn't really that hungry; dint feel like eating… etc. These bad habits have a terrible effect on your health.
Everything you eat and drink once you wake-up has an impact on our activeness, alertness, and concentration throughout the day. The first meal once you wake-up is regarded by dietitians as the most important one for your health and proper functioning of your body, which is why you should not be skipping it.
It helps you maintain stable insulin levels an at the same time reduces the risk of diabetes and obesity. What's more, it provides you with energy for the day, which improves brain functioning and general well-being.
9. NO Junk :
You are continuously wondering on how to lose weight fast but you cannot stop binge eating all that junk? Eliminating junk food can significantly reduce the amount of calories you consume each day. Even though it might seem like a convenient food choice, there are multiple reasons why you need to quit it; especially if you are looking to lose that extra fat. Junk food has very less or zero nutritional value and does more harm than good.
Considering how tempting it is, follow a gradual process of quitting. If you still crave then try to make them at home with low calorie & zero preservatives.

10. Seriously Make an Effort to Cut Down on Stress :
It might sound strange but stress is a big weight gainer. Stress not only affects your mind but the whole body. If you are stressed & tensed, it affects your sleep quality as well. Most people binge eat when they are depressed or smoke / drink when they are stressed and that does no good to your body. The best way to overcome this, is to organise your life.
Eat sensibly, de-clutter your living space, have a balanced work-personal life, exercise, meditate and you will automatically feel yourself calming down.
The bottom line is people will suggest numerous techniques, which can help your fat & weight loss; but nothing will work unless you work!
The above tips purely depend on an individual’s diet & lifestyle; genes too are a major factor.
If you implement some of these tips, you will be well on your way to your weight loss goals; provided you are consistent.
So that’s it for today guys ! Hope you follow these tips & make it a part of your daily routine.
If you try it out, I would love to hear your thoughts and see your progress.
